On August 26 the beginning of CAMDEN Playground rebuild took place. The Volunteers worked anywhere from 1 shift (8 am to noon; 12:30 pm - 4:30 pm; 5 pm - 8 pm), to an entire day. Though we didn't have the 80 Volunteers the Architects wanted us to have, those who were there, rain or shine, worked hard and did a very good job.
Below are a few photos of the rebuild, and by the end of the build, everyone was like family, even the Volunteers, just like the first build. Because of the lack of volunteers, we weren't able to finish the playground, however the City of Janesville took over, still seeking a few Volunteers to help out. The playground which would have been completed the end of September, had we had the Volunteers, will now be completed more towards the end of October.
Remember, if you want something done, Volunteer yourself, instead of hoping others will do it, because something like this happens, and it's your children who suffer. If you use the playground, help rebuild it, don't expect someone else to do it for you.
THANK YOU TO THE VOLUNTEERS WHO STEPPED FORWARD TO WORK ON REBUILDING THIS VERY SPECIAL PLAYGROUND, IT WAS AN HONOR TO MEET YOU.
REBUILD: AUG 26-SEPT 11
Photos are by day, starting 8/20 for the teardown, to August 26-28 the First Phase, then September 6-11 the Second Phase.
A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL WHO VOLUNTEERED/DONATED TO MAKE THIS PLAYGROUND A BETTER PLACE FOR ALL CHILDREN.
